Estate Management

This side of the business was established in 1988. Partners in the group are:

Peter Greenwood & Co manages approximately 50,000 acres throughout Yorkshire and Scotland. Within the management there are over 450 residential properties and the management also includes not only let farms and in- hand farms, industrial units, office space and public houses.

Agricultural Sales & Lettings

Peter Greenwood & Co is involved in both residential and farm sales and purchases. We have sold property in either our own right or jointly with national or local agents depending on what is the best course of action for our client.

Forestry Management & Timber Sales

Peter Greenwood & Co manages and acts as Consultants on upwards of 3,000 acres, some of it within the ordinary Estate Management remit, but also separately as Forest Managers. Our service includes asset assessment and preparation of management policy, valuation, taxation and grant aid advice, woodland management, timber harvesting and marketing and sales and purchases

Sporting

Peter Greenwood & Co is involved in letting and running shoot days on many leading estates in North Yorkshire and letting fishing on many rivers including the Swale, Ure, Nidd, Rye and Derwent.

DEFRA & Grants

Peter Greenwood & Co has considerable experience in the Countryside Stewardship Scheme, the Farm Woodland Premium Scheme, Local Authority Restoration Grants, County Council Conservation Grants, SSSI Wildlife Enhancements Schemes, Grant Aid from the Countryside Commission and the Rural Development Commission and many more. We have also been successful in obtaining a grant under the Renewable Energies Order, Fourth tranche, for a hydro electric scheme.

Single Farm Payment Scheme

Peter Greenwood & Co has been involved with Farm Subsidy from the early days of IACS and now the Single Farm Payment. We can advise on all elements of valuation, transfer and annual claims for Farmers and Landowner.

Planning Advice

Peter Greenwood & Co has been extremely successful over the last 16 years in obtaining planning permission for clients. Our local knowledge, combined with many years of dealing with Harrogate Borough Council, Hambleton District Council, Ryedale District Council and the National Parks, has given the firm a successful track record in gaining planning approvals. We can undertake Local and Structural Plan reviews and provide alternative use assessments.

Valuations

Peter Greenwood & Co carries out farm stock takings, deals with compensation claims for water and gas pipelines and recently has been involved in compensation claims for the A1 (M) construction. We carry out a diverse range of valuations on rural property and have been involved in family partnership splits, tax planning and valuation work, as well as valuations for IHT and CGT, planning, probates and Expert witness reports.
